A trumpet has been sounded and GOD is igniting business leaders who can get things done in heaven and on earth. Joshua and Caleb are described in Scripture as men who had a different spirit. They were two of the 12 spies sent into the PROMISED LAND to determine if it could be taken, as God had promised it to them. The other ten gave a bad report that instilled fear in the people, which ultimately caused a rebellion. This resulted in an entire generation dying in the desert. Joshua and Caleb were the only two who were led by the SPIRIT of GOD, versus the spirit of fear. They were the only ones to enter the PROMISED LAND from their generation.

I see a shift happening between our charismatic heritage and the initiative that goes with Kingdom. At present and in the past, 95% of charismatic orthodoxy has defined spirituality as any-minute obedience to the Holy Spirit. We just need to obey… we don’t need to understand the big picture, we don’t need plans or strategies (God takes care of all that). We just need to obey the Holy Spirit and the Book of Acts will return. It’s not true. Obedience alone doesn’t define maturity; it defines a servant / slave mentality. Jesus is asking for obedience from the heart and initiative that goes with knowing the Father’s business and acting accordingly. That’s the real price tag for reforming nations. “No plan” equals no fruit beyond personal ministry. Obedience and any minute guidance is not wrong. It is where we all begin. It’s just no longer complete. The cloud is moving. Kingdom is much more than me, my ministry, my spiritual gifts, and signs and wonders. All those things are valid tools that serve a much larger purpose. The transition from servant to king is partnering with the King of Kings. Wisdom – People engaged in business (or any mountain) understand this more clearly than believers. They know God isn’t going to spell our every detail. It’s our responsibility to understand God’s purpose, share His heart and co-labor with him. We make decisions and take initiative. Entrepreneurial people naturally do this, the rest of us don’t… and have the fruit to show for it… our little. BY OS HILLMAN
“And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’ One suggested this, and another that. – 1 Kings 22:20 There are few times we get a glimpse of what goes on in Heaven. Here is one instance when the angels were conferring with the Lord about the judgment of King Ahab for his sin and who was going to set up Ahab for this judgment. If God wanted to use you to impact your world for Jesus Christ, what circumstances would have to be created in order for you to respond to His call? Would prospering you materially encourage you to this end? Would a major change in what you are presently doing be necessary? BY LARRY NAULT, BKC President and Chief Strategist
We have counseled hundreds of Christian business owners over the years about their Identity in Christ and the role they and their business play in the Kingdom. Business can be used for so much good in society, not just to give money away but to make an IMPACT directly. It's time for the "business community arm" of the Church to move into the fullness of their calling. What we BELIEVE will either propel us forwards towards IMPACT or keep us stagnate merely looking at profits. Along the way we've discovered FOUR FALSE-BELIEFS common in the minds of many well-intentioned followers of Christ. Theses false-beliefs are, that... BY DAVE KAHLE
“Our business should just make money so that we can give it away” – that’s the message our contemporary evangelical culture teaches us. Those who look for a higher purpose in their business may find this message easy to accept but is this message actually short-sighted and missing the mark on all God has for Christian owned businesses? There are books written advocating that the sole purpose of a business is to make money to fund religion. What if God has a much larger and full purpose for business? It is easy to conclude from the Biblical theme of giving that the sole purpose of our businesses is to give. And besides, it feels good and gives great CSR standing in the community! With so much support for the idea, it’s no wonder that most Christian business people believe it. Could it be that this giving paradigm, that feels good and seems reasonable, is actually hindering our growth of the Kingdom? BY LARRY NAULT, BKC President and Chief Strategist God doesn’t have a plan for your life; He has a purpose for your life and it’s your job to discover that purpose and make a plan to fulfill it. It's our job to help you! God is awakening His children to their true identity! He is working in each of us to reach His highest goals until His purpose and our purpose are one. "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the game goes into training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." 1 Co. 9:24-25 Do you believe God can write His desires in our heart, so they feel like our own? …that He wants us to walk in initiative, boldly doing exploits so that He can say, “Well done!” Have you already experienced it? (Heb. 8:10, 10:16 and Jer. 31:31-34, Ezek. 36:26-28) BY JOHN GARFIELD, BKC Director of Kingdom Advancement
"My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be". Ps 139:15-16 NIV Once we get saved and receive the Holy Spirit, a hunger to find our Kingdom purpose is birthed. It starts with becoming a servant who can obey. It continues as we become students of His word and exercise our gifts. It peaks when we become His friends who collaborate and co-labor with our Father. Now we’re free to undertake initiatives because we know our heart and our Father’s heart are on the same page. The Lord is pulling the curtain back on a generation of lions who are hungry to play their role in this coming REFORMATION. They are excited, they have volunteered before the Lord, and their hearts are all asking the same question, “What can I do?” Jesus wants to answer that question Himself. With all that is going on in our nation and in the world, can you believe that tomorrow, October 31st marks the 500th anniversary that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Thesis on the door of the Church? That started the Protestant Reformation! Many prophetic voices have spoken about this anniversary in months past...about this being a time of another reformation...we are due! In Martin Luther's Day, sin and corruption were rampant, immorality was destroying the family, and "truth" was whatever influential people said it was. Sound familiar? Our nations are a reflection of the churches or ekklesias within them and we, not our government, are responsible for the state of our nation. We, the church, have given the enemy the legal right to create a government and a nation in which so much corruption and poverty are rampant. And it has happened on our watch! "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot." (Matthew 5:13) The world seems to be growing darker, but we as Spirit-filled Believers are not of this world. We are citizens of Heaven and as the world grows darker, our light shines brighter. We are called to be the salt of the earth, but what should happen if salt loses its saltiness? In these times, it is essential that the Bride does not compromise the truth of the Gospel. Jesus died for our freedom (Galatians 5:1) and His death was not in vain. When we compromise the Word of God by sympathizing with ungodliness and coming into agreement with a lie, people are held in captivity. It is the truth that sets people free (John 8:32) and who the Son sets free is truly free (John 8:36). Is the saying "Jesus is Lord" just a Christian slogan, or is there greater meaning to that phrase?
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 Today’s newsletter features an article by Rob Board entitled DOES “JESUS IS LORD” REALLY MEAN WHAT IT SAYS? Rob writes: “In our Western culture, we do not want anyone to Lord it over us. After all, we are free and independent people. We most prefer Jesus to be our Savior because that appeals to us -- to be saved from the consequences of our sins -- it is very humanistic. What is really difficult is to say that Jesus is Lord in our lives and really mean it and live it. Not just say it as a Christian slogan.” |
