The Biblical Basis for the Marketplace Mandate

🔹 Genesis 1:28 – The Original Mandate

“Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it...”
This wasn’t just for families. It was a call to establish culture: to create, cultivate, and govern the earth in partnership with God. Business is one of the primary expressions of this original design.

🔹 Matthew 28:19 – The Great Commission

“Go and make disciples of all nations…”

The word for “nations” is ethnos, meaning spheres, cultures, and systems. The marketplace is one of the most strategic arenas for disciple-making today.

🔹 1 Corinthians 3:10-13 – Build What Lasts

“Each one must be careful how he builds…”

Your business is not neutral. It is either becoming a structure that will withstand the fire of eternity or one that will not. What you build and how you build it matters deeply to God.
