If the center is off, everything built around it will eventually drift. In our first message of this series, we established something foundational: You can be highly productive and still not be fully aligned. Because alignment does not begin with activity. It begins with what is at the center. And whether leaders recognize it or not…
something is always shaping how they lead. Pressure. Fear. Performance. Responsibility. Ambition. Control. Something always occupies the center. And whatever sits at the center of leadership… eventually shapes everything built around it. 🔷 The Center Most Leaders Overlook Most leadership conversations begin with:
It begins with Presence. At Building A Kingdom Company, the center of our Strategic Foundation is simple: God’s presence and power. Not as abstract theology. Not as inspiration. But as the actual source leaders are meant to build from. Because the Kingdom was never meant to be built independently from the King. 1) The Pattern Throughout Scripture Throughout Scripture, the distinguishing mark of God’s people was never merely:
In Exodus 33:15, Moses said: “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” That is an astonishing statement. Israel had:
Without God’s presence, progress is not the same as alignment. You can still move. You can still build. You can still grow. And still not be moving with Him. 2) Jesus Modeled This Perfectly Jesus never led independently from the Father. In John 5:19, He said: “The Son can do nothing of Himself, but only what He sees the Father doing…” And later, in John 15:5: “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” Not: “You can do less.” But: “You can do nothing.” That statement confronts the illusion most leaders live under: That we can build effectively while remaining disconnected from the source of life itself. 3) Presence Is Not Passive This is where many people misunderstand Kingdom leadership. Leading from God’s presence does not mean:
He was extraordinarily intentional. But His leadership flowed from continual alignment with the Father. He did not react to every demand. He discerned. He listened. He moved from relationship instead of pressure. And that changes everything. 4) What Presence Looks Like Practically Leading from Presence means: You slow down enough to discern before reacting. You stop treating prayer like preparation for leadership… and recognize it as leadership itself. You become more aware of:
But consistently. Because clarity flows from Presence. 5) The Real Issue Most leaders do not reject God’s presence. They simply do not build from it. They acknowledge it. They visit it. They believe in it. But other things remain at the center:
will shape how leadership is expressed. 6) Why This Changes Everything When God’s presence becomes central: Pressure loses its control. Performance loses its grip. Fear loses its authority. Because leadership is no longer flowing from self-preservation. It is flowing from alignment. And when the center becomes aligned… everything around it begins to align as well. 7) Where This Leads Presence establishes the center. And from that center… identity begins to stabilize. Because before leaders can understand:
who they are in relationship to the Father. That is where we will go next. 🔷 Reflection What is currently sitting at the center of your leadership? Where are pressure, urgency, or fear shaping decisions more than Presence? And what might change if leadership flowed first from alignment with the Father… instead of reaction to everything around you? Closing At Building A Kingdom Company, everything begins here. Not with strategy. Not with systems. Not with growth. But with learning to lead from the Presence of God. Because when the center is aligned… everything built around it begins to change. ➡️ Learn more about BKC ➡️ Explore the Reformation Process BUILDING A KINGDOM COMPANY™ is a leadership teaching series developed by Building A Kingdom Company ©, centered on the Kingdom Company Strategic Foundation™ and the alignment of leadership, culture, and enduring impact.
