We have counseled hundreds of Christian business owners over the years about their Identity in Christ and the role they and their business play in the Kingdom. Business can be used for so much good in society, not just to give money away but to make an IMPACT directly. It's time for the "business community arm" of the Church to move into the fullness of their calling. What we BELIEVE will either propel us forwards towards IMPACT or keep us stagnate merely looking at profits. Along the way we've discovered FOUR FALSE-BELIEFS common in the minds of many well-intentioned followers of Christ. Theses false-beliefs are, that...

“Our business should just make money so that we can give it away” – that’s the message our contemporary evangelical culture teaches us. Those who look for a higher purpose in their business may find this message easy to accept but is this message actually short-sighted and missing the mark on all God has for Christian owned businesses? There are books written advocating that the sole purpose of a business is to make money to fund religion. What if God has a much larger and full purpose for business? It is easy to conclude from the Biblical theme of giving that the sole purpose of our businesses is to give. And besides, it feels good and gives great CSR standing in the community! With so much support for the idea, it’s no wonder that most Christian business people believe it. Could it be that this giving paradigm, that feels good and seems reasonable, is actually hindering our growth of the Kingdom? BY LARRY NAULT, BKC President and Chief Strategist God doesn’t have a plan for your life; He has a purpose for your life and it’s your job to discover that purpose and make a plan to fulfill it. It's our job to help you! God is awakening His children to their true identity! He is working in each of us to reach His highest goals until His purpose and our purpose are one. "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the game goes into training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." 1 Co. 9:24-25 Do you believe God can write His desires in our heart, so they feel like our own? …that He wants us to walk in initiative, boldly doing exploits so that He can say, “Well done!” Have you already experienced it? (Heb. 8:10, 10:16 and Jer. 31:31-34, Ezek. 36:26-28) BY JOHN GARFIELD, BKC Director of Kingdom Advancement
"My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be". Ps 139:15-16 NIV Once we get saved and receive the Holy Spirit, a hunger to find our Kingdom purpose is birthed. It starts with becoming a servant who can obey. It continues as we become students of His word and exercise our gifts. It peaks when we become His friends who collaborate and co-labor with our Father. Now we’re free to undertake initiatives because we know our heart and our Father’s heart are on the same page. The Lord is pulling the curtain back on a generation of lions who are hungry to play their role in this coming REFORMATION. They are excited, they have volunteered before the Lord, and their hearts are all asking the same question, “What can I do?” Jesus wants to answer that question Himself. |
