BY LARRY NAULT, BKC's President and Chief Strategist Is your company making the impact it could in the world for the glory of God? Did you know that we were commanded to do just that? Then Jesus came to his followers and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mt. 28:18-20 God wants us to change the world. He decides where we are to go but we decide when we will go - what are we waiting for? As Christian business owners, we have the authority and responsibility to shape a corporate culture that is congruent with our faith. If our faith is not validated through our behavior then one must question if we even have a genuine relationship with Christ.
The Bible is very clear that the purpose for our work life is to reflect Christ in and through our lives. It is an attitude that says our work is to have an overriding “ministry objective" to it. Our "work" is our "worship" to God - these two words even originate from the same Hebrew word, avodah. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Col. 3:23-24 Today's newsletter features two short articles that relate to this topic of “living out our faith and fulfilling our God-given destinies": #1 MIRACULOUS SIGNS, by Os Hillman: The disciples were working people. They turned the world upside down not because of their knowledge of Jesus, but because of their outflow of the power of Jesus through them to others. When is the last time someone saw something happen through your life that could not be explained other than God working in your life? Miracles follow obedience so get in the game; you're invited and it is fun! #2 THE TEACHING OF ADVERSITY, by Oswald Chambers: God does not give us overcoming life - He gives us life as we overcome. The strain of life and Building a Kingdom Company is what builds our strength. If there is no strain, there will be no strength. The key to receiving your inheritance is overcoming your own timidity by taking the first step and then staying on course with the Godly support of others. Church...this is a high and holy call for us to have full impact where we currently work and where God is calling us to! Satan's strategy is to keep us confused and distracted with the urgency of the moment versus the importance of eternity by creating a lasting legacy. God did not intend for you to know how to do this by yourself.
